A few weeks ago I visited the History Department. My apologies for not posting this earlier.

From the battle of Hastings and 3D printed castles with Peter to jobs in Medieval times with Warren, castle  designs with Quentin and World War 2 research with Ben, there was lots of enthusiasm, questions and interesting viewpoints and comments from the boys.

I have enjoyed being in the Year 9 History class learning about the Christ's College History and about the buildings. It was great to be able to share some of this knowledge with a recent visitor to the school. While we are forging through the 21st century and embracing technology, looking back and studying History gives us a context for where we have been. The posters on the walls said it all.  100 years on from the trenches and  n History classes, we are still thinking and learning about and trying to make sense of the Great War.

And a recent story in the online edition of History Today was looking at the current Ebola epidemic
with reference to the Black Plague.

The horror of the two events in Sydney and Pakistan in the last two days reflect the conflict that Bosco has talked about in Chapel this year. The use of Twitter by thousands of people to share the hashtag#lllridewithyou showed the instant reaction to the event in Sydney.

                                     "History never repeats" - unfortunately it does.
