Curation is a skill we now need to filter the vast amounts of information we are exposed to everyday in the digital world. While we can choose not to join Facebook or Twitter, or read blogs or online newspapers, we are linked via email with our colleagues, friends and in reality the rest of the world including those benevolent Nigerians.
As educators, there are many amazing digital resources that would enhance our students' learning. TED talks is a good example. There are teacher resource sites such as teachit or TES in the UK, and now POND here in New Zealand, where other teachers are willing to share their resources.
The vast resources linked to WW1 help to convey a sense of what life was like for young soldiers from
photos, letters, video footage and for me as an English teacher, poetry read beautifully by Helen Mirren or Kenneth Branagh.
